MT Junior Angus - Ten for 2010 fund raising campaign.

"A Place to Hang Your Hat"

Pulling for the Breed

The Montana Angus Auxiliary has been ‘Pulling for the Breed’ for 50 years now. We are currently in the process of planning a wonderful celebration tea which will take place Friday, October 15, 2010. The tea will begin at 3:00 pm at the Billings Depot, 2310 Montana Avenue downtown Billings. We will be honoring the ladies of the auxiliary via a short program, having delicious food on hand, a power point will be viewed, scrapbooks and other auxiliary memorabilia will be on hand to take us down memory lane. Come renew old friendships, make new acquaintances and celebrate the past 50 years and launch us into the next 50 plus successful years for the Montana Angus Auxiliary. Make your plans to attend now. You can RSVP to 406-588-3631. I would be happy to write your name down as an attendee.

We are also in the process of trying to get in contact with Charter Members, their families, past presidents, other important people to the auxiliary as well as royalty and scholarship winners. The goal is to publish a book of memories and history of the Montana Angus Auxiliary. Also we would like to include anyone’s ranch or family history and photos that would be interesting to be including in this book. Our charter members list as we know it is:

  • Jeanette Stevenson
  • Kay Conzelman
  • Marjorie Huffine
    Evelyn Eblen
  • Millie Boylan
  • Donna Sitz
  • Marjorie Harrer
  • Betty Lee
  • Mildred LaVoi
  • Dolores Harrer
  • June Carson
  • Eileen Trebesch
  • Mrs. Leonard Sorenson
  • Mrs. W.H. Donald Pat Denowh
  • Mardy Schulz
  • Mary Baird
  • Betty Davis
  • Drocy Stimson
  • Esther Harrer (our first auxiliary president)

The above logo is available to be published in spring and fall sale catalogs if you would like to honor the women in your life that have participated in the auxiliary. Maybe it was your grandmother, mother, sister, daughter that was an auxiliary member. Maybe one of these special ladies was Montana Angus Royalty or maybe they were scholarship recipients. Whatever the case may be, it would be an honor for you to honor them by using the camera ready logo and you could place whatever tag line you desired onto the logo. It has already been published in sale catalogs with the tag line “We salute and congratulate the Auxiliary on 50 years!” We are thrilled to have this recognition. You can contact me, and I would be happy to get you the logo sent to you.

The 50th anniversary committee members are: Donna Sitz-Arthun, Marian Stevenson, Gladys Walling, Yvonne Hinman, Pam Patterson, Sharon Stevenson, Andrea Spickard, LaVonne Frost, Kris Artnzen, Debbie Denowh, and myself. Please contact any one of us with questions and/or comments regarding the 50th anniversary celebration.

We, as cattlewomen, are the heart of our homes, and we assist equally in the promotion of the great Angus breed. The officers, directors and membership of the auxiliary are the heart of what gets accomplished every month and every year. Thank you to all who take part in this wonderful organization

We are a team working for the betterment of knowledge of the Angus breed, providing opportunities and hope through scholarships to well deserving young men and women pursuing secondary education.

We are a team that sees our young people work hard to prepare a breeding project to be shown at a local fair and when they win at their fair they receive a beautiful Montana Silversmith belt buckle award.

We are a team that promotes the Angus breed by holding the Montana Angus Queen contest every spring. Whom the Angus queen and princesses can represent with responsibility, integrity, honesty, and virtue.

We are a team who tracks the successes of our youth through the Junior Achievement Awards to see them continually rewarded for their efforts.

It is my privilege to be a part of the Montana Angus Auxiliary team. It is my desire to see our organization strengthened and encouraged to continue being a very viable part of many people's lives and to be a blessing to all who participate. Thank you to all who have given of their time and resources to see the Montana Angus Auxiliary pulling for the breed.
